The New York Times Magazine had a great article on Battlestar Galactica.
I loved the original series (even the mechanical dog), but like the new
series even more due to its intelligent and timely writing.
The NYTM article clearly recognizes the show's strong writing and
pointed out comparisons between the Cylons ("who look like people",
have discovered God and believe themselves to be "ruthlessly
principled") and Al Qaeda.
I hate terrorists! They use the excuse of religion to preach hate while
really their true desire is to control your mind. Comparing terrorists
to Cylons is perfect as the Cylons attempt to commit genocide on the
human race simply because they didn't like the traits and behaviors of humans. Yep-that pretty much sounds like a terrorist to me!
