I have to admit that I'm hooked on fantasy football. I've always loved watching pro football (especially my team the New York (Jersey) Giants.  However, since I am involved in a fantasy league I find myself watching and cheering for players (like Terrell Owens) and teams (the Eagles) that I despise. What a great marketing vehicle for the NFL.

Confession to eBay (my employer): although I try and spend as little time as possible reviewing my fantasy team and stats, on occasion I do spend a small bit of time on ESPN's fantasy site (which is terrible and I'll never use it after this season).  Also, Ro and I probably spend 5-10 minutes per week discussing our respective teams.

That leads me to the following question: how much productivity do US companies lose due to fantasy football?  Thanks to the NY Times, here is an estimate: 10 minutes of being unproductive costs employees $196.1 million.  Ouch!
