I have to admit that I'm hooked on fantasy football. I've
always loved watching pro football (especially my team the
Confession to eBay (my employer): although I try and spend as little
time as
possible reviewing my fantasy team and stats, on occasion I do spend a
small
bit of time on ESPN's fantasy site (which is terrible and I'll never
use it after this season). Also, Ro and I probably spend 5-10
minutes per week discussing
our respective teams.
That leads me to the following question: how much productivity do US companies
lose due to fantasy football? Thanks to the NY Times, here is an estimate:
10 minutes of being unproductive costs employees $196.1 million.
Ouch!
